Having Problems...
I'm a PvE player, as noone knows (possibly let it out someplace else, though), but I'm somewhat obessed in PvP. I don't have enough time for it, though. 1.5-2 hours per week just doesn't let me do PvP.
Anyways, I've been thinking about making a PvP Guild build, and I came up with a few ideas. Sort of. (Is this the place to post it?)
I think there could be:
E/Me Wards + Hexes (Rust (OMFG???LOLZ), Blurred Vision, Soothing Images, Ineptitude, etc.)
Me/Mo Domination/Illusion (Change to Illusion/Inspiration for running on Fire map)
Mo/Me Boon Protector
Mo/Me Boon Protector/Healer
N/Mo Hexer
R/Me NPC Solo/Crippler
W/E Devastating Hammer/Backbreaker Hammer
W/E Aftershock-Earth Shaker Hammer
I sort of don't want to post it yet, since I think it's crappy.
And the original idea was: (The idea was pre-nerf)
Me/Mo Illusion Mesmer
Me/N Copycat (Mimicry the other Mesmer, depending on situation)
Me/R Domination Mesmer
Mo/Me Boon Prot
Mo/Me Boon Prot/Healer
R/Me Runner
W/E Devastating Hammer/Backbreaker Hammer
W/E Aftershock-Earth Shaker Hammer
Both builds have 3 condition removal, one of them being Restore.
Both builds have around 8-9 hex removal.
I'm having trouble with enchantment removal. I'm trying to get some free space on a Necro primary/secondary, with some curses, for a Rend or two. But I'm having problems with it.
My second question is, would a Me/Mo runner be viable somewhat in the Fire map (Ring of Fire map)? The one with lava paths to the flag stand?
Like:
Me/Mo
Fast Casting: 5 +1
Illusion: 10 +1 +1
Inspiration: 10 +1
Healing Prayers: 10
Illusion of Haste (Lava gives cripple, Illusion of Haste negates cripple.)
Heal Party
Healing Breeze
Soothing Images
Ineptitude
Inspired Hex
Holy Veil
Resurrect (?Rez Signet?)
Possibly toss a Power Drain in there.

The build looks ok in theory, if you equip the right skills and have good players.
Note: Maybe rework your warrior lineup, or atleast remove aftershock
Yes mesmer runners do nice in fire map

Why remove aftershock? Earth Shaker + Stonefist + Aftershock isn't good damage?

aftershock costs alot of energy, got a very slow aftercast, and is gonna be completely put useless once your target is under prot spirit.

Then I get 3/10 of their health down.
Got no idea about aftercast though.

the part where you say change to illusion/inspiration on fire map yeah thats not how it works. Once enter the guild battle the map is either yours or the other guilds and you cannot switch before you start. If you plan on using the firemap there are much more annoying builds for that map but you never know.
your offensive pressure doesnt seem like its gonna go together that well. Hammer warriors are not consistantly high DPS like an axe warrior, hammers are for the knockdown chain. And if you don't go all the way with hexes and overload them you will just be fueling the other teams inspired hexes with a little spill over for veil. just something to be mindful of.

Yes, I know it's either mine or other guild's.
I'm not that dumb. Or am I?
EDIT: Still, if they try to Cripple the runner, I still don't see the effects of Cripple via Illu. of Haste.
And I'm thinking about a E/Me runner with Illusion of Haste + Mind Freeze. Just a thought.
(By the way, I think my wording was a bit stupid. I meant, if I'm using the Fire map, use the runner. Because I'm not, currently.)

Afterschock isn't great damage. My guild ran a build with 3 W/E hammers that would wait till someone had enough for a backbreaker and we would call a target. Once it was KD'd we hit crushing blow +aftershock. The damage was great, but not everytime. You have to be soemwhat quick and have 16 hammer and 12 earth. Since you have 2 warriors I don't think that the damage will do.

You do more damage as a pure warrior than using aftershock. Use crushing blow instead.

aftercast is the time it takes after casting a spell before you can do your next action, ie : swing your hammer.
just make a pvp char as a w/e and try it, you will soon find out what i'm talking about. and you will soon find out how annoying it is.

According to Ensigns figures Hammers do more DPS than Axes, higher max damage means better criticals.

hammers do more dmg easy, earthshaker isn't very good on hammer warrior since it doesn't add any dmg and the adreneline is high. 1 devastating, 1 backbreaker warrior might work better for you, or maybe just 1 backbreaker and 1 axe warrior instead, backbreaker you can make a better spike
backbreaker+crushing+mighty+irresistable= 300+dmg to a caster that doesn't have a armor buff.

Lightning, my advice to you is to watch dozens of GVG matches on observer with top guilds and watch how they play and what builds they run.
Then play in several GVG matches with generic, uncreative builds. After you understand why and how things work, then design your own build.
It's counter-intuitive to come up with solutions to problems you don't yet fully understand.

I know what aftercast is...I don't know the aftercast of Aftershock, though. Now I do know.

Now that is some good advice, but which I can't really take because I barely have 2 hours per week. I'm sad, ain't I?
